What can one say about the 90’s, other than that they came after the 80’s? Well, in many ways the 90’s also put an end to the wild materialism of the 80’s and people finally starting to pay off some of the debt they accumulated during that decade of materialism. One of the longest running sitcoms in history, “Cheers”, came to an end, and the USA fought round one of the Persian Gulf War with Iraq. Music-wise, it seemed, little had changed. The material girl, Madonna, defied all predictions of being a “one-hit wonder” and went on to create several more number-one hits and won a Grammy for best album. Michael Jackson, another 80’s musical icon had much the same success. The world almost immediately seemed to be looking forward to the new millennium, and the phrase “Y2K” had us updating our computers for the so-called computer catastrophe that was supposed to trigger the end of the world.

If you want to relive the music from the 90’s you will be happy to hear that there are literally hundreds of stations that offer and devote themselves to the music of this decade.
